Tinker was my first (and to date, only) guinea pig. He had been in the pet shop 3 months we were
told, as people kept choosing the younger ones and passing him by, but to us, that made him even
more special.
He was a little character, and squeaked like mad, asking for food, when his daddy (my boyfriend)
said a certain word ("Hiya!"). Or if he heard a plastic bag rustling, he automatically associated
that with food, and stood on his hind legs, asking for treats. He had tantrums when he didn't get
his own way, jumping in the air and stamping his feet.
He passed away only earlier this month, and it just isn't the same without him, I miss the noises
that drove me crazy (when he used to make a racket on his water bottle!) and I miss his lovely brown
eyes.
(Update 12/12/08) Well, I have now finally managed to transfer my old video footage to the computer
my darling, and can update your page with your lovely face. Hope you are having fun with all your
cavie pals. xxxxxxx
Oh baby, I will never forget that night, you slipped away in my arms with Jan next to me. I hope I
didn't scare you too much with my crying, I just couldn't believe you were leaving me, you gave me
no sign it was your time baby. I love you so much.

As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

I wish with all my heart I could see you once more,
I would use that moment and time to tell you how
Much love my heart holds for you and I shall never

Life each and every day with out you keeps going on
Even if some days I do not wish it I know I am being
Selfish and maybe even wrong, but to see you just once

I try to remember all the loving and happy times we
Were granted to enjoy and share, I try to understand
And not cry but to see you once more even only for a
moment to let you know just how very much I do care.
I know that day will eventually come when its my turn
To this world to say goodbye, But until then I shall hold
your love close to my heart, and sometimes I shall break
Down and cry, and I will still ask the question why did you
have to die?
Rainbows appear only on dreary, rainy days.
They beautify the world for a few brief moments.
These moments, however, can be spectacular.
YOU were our brief rainbow.
You entered our life
And stayed but a short while.

When you blessed us with laughter and delight,

Charm and beauty,

Littlest Angel of Mine

I was adrift on waves of feelings
swirling circles about my mind
wondering if I had the strength
to decide it was your time.
Did I have the right to make this choice
that would change our lives forever,
did I have the will to sacrifice
our precious time together?
Was I wrong in thinking of myself
while you grew so frail and weak,
was I selfish in my desperate need
to have you here with me to keep?
Into your bright green eyes I searched
and found within your soul,
the echo of a far-seen wisdom
the kind which only angels know.
You gently rocked my broken heart
and with angelic calm
you lifted all the guilt I felt
for wanting to hold on.
You showed me that the choice with which
I felt so wrecked and torn
lay upon a path God paved
the day that you were born.
Somehow you made me understand
the choice was never mine,
it had been appointed long before,
in another place and time.
So as I lay you down to sleep
your eternal spirit shines
and our paths will cross again someday
